Fat Dissolving Injections, also known as intralipotherapy or injection lipolysis, offer a minimally invasive way to specifically target and reduce fat. These injections, often referred to as fat dissolvers, fall under the category of mesotherapy and belong to the range of nonsurgical fat reduction methods.

This procedure is a secure and efficient treatment designed to reduce stubborn fat cells in treated areas.   • The treatment involves injections of Aqualyx or Lemon bottle into areas of stubborn fat. They contain plant polymers that bind with the cell walls of the fat tissue and release the fat to be dissolved. Once the formula has liquified the fat cell, it’s then eliminated through urine over a three-week period.

  • Fat cells will not regenerate or return once they have been destroyed.

    However, it is critical to follow sound lifestyle guidelines, such as eating a nutritious diet and exercising regularly. This prevents the remaining fat cells from growing in size.

  • The time it takes for each treatment session depends on the size of the area being treated. A session usually lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. Most people need around 2 to 8 treatments, with each treatment spaced 4 weeks apart. Sometimes, you might start seeing good results after just 1 or 2 sessions.

    For example, if we're targeting fat pockets under the neck and chin, you might need 1 to 3 treatments, and each treatment could involve 2 to 3 injections. But if we're dealing with fat pockets on the hips and thighs, you might need up to 8 treatment sessions.

  • The treatment takes time to reach its full effect but patients that have undergone follow-up examinations seven years after therapy still show a reduction in fat tissue in the treated areas. Some patients get good results from a single treatment, but many require 2-3 treatments. Rarely, up to 8 sessions are required for difficult areas. The recommended interval between repeat treatments is 4-6 weeks.

  • You will have some swelling and redness in the area where we dissolve the fat for a few weeks.

    This starts to settle after a few days and is normally gone in 3-4 weeks. You may have some discomfort but this is not usually severe. A little bruising is expected. You should not exercise for 5 days and some patients find mild compression clothing (e.g. Spandex) helps for non-facial treatment areas.

    A low-fat diet can help to increase the effectiveness of fat dissolver. Long-term benefit is possible with a healthy lifestyle.
